The Western Cape Premier’s Recognition Awards (PERA) seek to acknowledge successful entrepreneurs in the province and after 3 years, have demonstrated that the Western Cape is home to numerous forward-thinking entrepreneurs who are not only determined to make a success of their business in difficult economic times, but are also, where possible, ensuring that their businesses have a positive impact on clients, community and the environment.
At the awards ceremony last month, Cape Canopy Tour was named the Best Emerging Tourism Business in 2015. We were thrilled! Managing Director, Ryan Larkman, commented: “We’re incredibly excited to have won Best Emerging Tourism business in the Western Cape. It has taken 10 years of planning and hard work, so we’re extremely proud of this achievement after only one year into our operation. We would like to encourage all other new businesses: It’s not always easy, but hang in there, make use of the resources the government makes available to you, and if you’re determined you’ll succeed!”
Provincial Minister of Economic Opportunities, Allan Winde, commended the finalists, saying that entrepreneurship takes a little bit of “crazy” to see an opportunity and follow that idea relentlessly, but it is these type of crazy people that are creating jobs and driving the economy forward as entrepreneurs. We should all be supporting new ideas and encouraging entrepreneurs to create employment opportunities and build our nation!
