What to Bring
You should wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe footwear. Slip-slops are not suitable as they will simply fall off. Shorts or long pants are fine but mini-skirts are not. An application of sun block before you go is a good idea.
Don’t forget to bring your camera as there are many excellent photo opportunities along the way.
What to Expect
Experience the thrill of gliding through the forest canopy in one of the last mountain wilderness areas left in Swaziland. Set within the forested Sihlotswane gorge, adjacent to the famous Malolotja Falls, the Malolotja Canopy Tour® consists of 11 elevated forest platforms, 10 slides and a 50 metre long suspension bridge that crosses the Majolomba River.
The protected Malolotja Nature Reserve contains a wide variety of mammals and birdlife including rare species such as the Forest Canary and Ground Woodpecker. The tour includes a long drive in an open game vehicle to the start of the Canopy Tour, where sightings of Blesbuck, Eland, Impala and Zebra are common.
From the moment you launch off the first platform, a new world unfolds as you slide across to the next viewpoint. Once you arrive at the platform we encourage you to stop for a while and enjoy the view while your guide points out interesting features and facts about the surrounding ecology.
The tour lasts typically 3 hours after which you will return to the reception to swop stories and enjoy some well-deserved refreshments. Don’t forget to bring your camera as there are some great photo opportunities along the way!
